I’ve been the owner and operator of Harlequin Pet Services since 2006…
I've been an Austin resident since 1992 and am a confirmed lifelong animal lover. I share my home with my lively lab mix Doug the dog, and my naughty orange tabby, Norman Mailer, cat.
In addition to walking dogs, I’m an theatre artist and musical designer active in the local theater community, and a long-time member of the VORTEX RepCo. Because I very much enjoy spending time with animals, for many years I took care of my friends' pets on an amateur basis, so it seemed like a natural fit to move to providing pet services professionally. Harlequin Pet Services is now enjoying our sixteenth year of business. By day, I can be found outside with my many animal friends, and by night, you can see me or my work on stage at various local theaters.
How It Works
Call, text, or email me and tell me about your situation - presuming you’re in my service area, the next step is to set up a ‘get acquainted' meeting at your home, during which we can chat, you can introduce me to your pets, show me where things are and how you’d like things done in your absence. If we all feel like it’s a good fit, this is also the time to provide me with keys (or codes) to your home, and to make a reservation if you’re ready.
Our Philosophy
My general philosophy is that pets are happiest when life goes as expected! What I like to do is find out how you usually structure their days, and try to stick to that as much as possible. If you have a training routine or protocols in place, we follow them! If you, like me, are a very relaxed pet owner, then relaxed is how we’ll be. I’ll work with you to figure out a good schedule that makes you and your pets feel secure, and then I will take care of them the way I take care of my own: with full attention to detail.
